Overprint
Small-edition energy: two inks, clear labels, deliberate overlap away from text.

The story
One sheet, a small number of inks
An edition can be distinctive because it accepts limits. A small number of inks, a repeatable sheet and a clear relationship between the image and its caption can give a publication its voice. Overprint begins with that economy. It is not a filter that makes a complete interface appear badly printed. Reading remains crisp. Controls remain aligned. The interesting overlap belongs to the visual material around the task, where it can be appreciated without making the task harder to complete.
RISO's own history supplies the chronology of its duplicating technology. Woolly Press's Riso Museum documents the contemporary practices around it: stencil preparation, proofing, colour layering, registration and small-press editions. Together these sources describe a process and a working community, not a universal palette. Overprint is our catalog name; it is not an affiliation with the manufacturer. The direction takes the economy of a few deliberate layers while leaving the work of individual printers and artists out of the asset bundle.
Keep the edition information useful
The planned edition card gives a work a title, a maker, a format and a clear state. A print-run badge should describe a real quantity when there is one, rather than fabricate scarcity. A zine index can make a mixed collection browsable. Workshop booking and a two-ink selector extend the idea into useful choices. These patterns are more important to the system than a grainy background. They must work with an unknown edition size, a sold-out state, a long maker name and ordinary keyboard navigation.
Space Grotesk and IBM Plex Mono are the proposed open-licensed type pairing. Indigo structure and a raspberry action accent sit against a warm light stock; the dark palette uses a lighter accent with a measured readable relationship. Decorative misregistration can be a fixed offset in an original image, but never a duplicate edge on body text or a form field. There is no animated jitter. Reduced motion removes decorative transitions without changing the information or leaving an empty place where feedback should have been.
Make the print material, not a simulation of failure
The asset plan includes original overlays, a few deliberately coarse stock studies and a useful swatch sheet. It does not include scans of an independent artist's zine, borrowed illustrations, or a manufacturer's mark. A generated material study will be labelled as a concept, not as a photograph of an actual edition. If the eventual paid pack contains textures, their source and making process need to be recorded. An attractive irregularity does not erase the rights attached to the image that supplied it.
Overprint is intended for independent publishing, community arts and hands-on workshops. It differs from Paper's reading emphasis and Ink's transactional broadside by centring the production and description of small editions. There is room for an energetic cover, but not for colour overlap to become the only way to tell success from error. There are already paper and neo-brutalist presets elsewhere. The reason to build this one is a coherent edition workflow and original supporting material, not a new claim to the colours pink and blue.
Overprint is a draft and is not available as a complete component or asset pack. Check back if small-edition publishing is part of the work you are making. An availability notice will describe the actual included material when it is ready. No price, release date, limited-run claim or purchase commitment is created by checking back, and there is no manufacturer endorsement implied.
